Heidi Tait
Co-founder and CEO of the Tangaroa Blue Foundation
Heidi Tait is the co-founder and CEO of the Tangaroa Blue Foundation. Created in 2004, the Australian charity has for mission to inspire and catalyse action and empower others to remove and prevent waste from entering the marine environment. Working primarily around Australia, the foundation also collaborates with partners across the South Pacific and South-East Asia.
She is at the origin of the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI). A framework that not only focused on removing the ever-increasing loads of rubbish in our oceans but more importantly focuses on finding ways to prevent marine debris from being released in the first place.
Heidi is a 20 years experienced scuba diving instructor and ocean lover. She was acknowledged in the Ocean Geographic magazine as one of the “18 most influential women in ocean conservation” (July 2018).
