Sidney Regis

Sidney Regis is the creator of the collaborative artistic project “We Were Water and Air” for air and water preservation. He founded the Breath Ocean Foundation to support this project. He uses different media and actions to creatively connect everyone to air and water.

Sidney Regis worked with Canadian Director Gregory Colbert and collaborated with the dancer Julie Gautier for an underwater ballet with sharks, whales, and manta rays. In 2019, he was also the main character of a short movie directed by Guillaume Canet about the symbolism of free-diving. He is a marine photographer, showcasing his work in France and abroad, notably in New York, London, and Dakar. Since 2019, he works for the French TV Channel France 3 where he presents environmental positive initiatives (learn more here).

Sidney Regis is a free-diving champion. In 2006 and 2007 he established french free-diving records, and he qualified for the 2007 world championship. His personal record for static free-diving is 7 minutes 52 seconds. Thanks to these skills, Sidney Regis helps the CNRS researchers monitoring turtles for conservation biology programs.
